Quote of the Day

Life is too Short...Adorn Yourself-Bijoux In Bloom

What was going through my mind when I thought of this?  Well, after years of raising kids, cleaning house, doing laundry and neglecting my beauty regimes I decided things had to change.  I didn't want to go another day without wearing earrings and lipgloss.  I decided I owed it to myself to look and feel good.

So whatever makes you feel good about yourself...wear it! do it!  OWN IT, BABY!

Because...

LIFE IS TOO SHORT!

Go forth and Adorn yourself today

The Glamour of Christina Hendricks Part Deux

So how does the beautiful Christina Hendricks maintain her flawless skin?  First of all, have you noticed that she never has a tan? So it's probably safe to say she stays out of the sun and is big on sunblock.

So what other secret beauty weapon does she have up her coutured sleeve you ask?  I did a  little investigating and found out she has three...

This first is a moisturizer by 3lab.  Pretty pricey but probably worth the mulah

The second is a moisturizer by Kiel's called Midnight Recovery Concentrate.  I'm picking this up ASAP!

Last and least costly, she uses olive oil.  The star just smoothes it on her arms and face whenever she is cooking at home. I've used this around my eyes and it does feel divine.

So what are YOUR beauty secrets?

Friday

Fashion Friday With The Glam Christina Hendricks

In case you don't know, Christina Hendricks is one of the stars of the hit show Mad Men on AMC.  I never watched this show until recently when my son started watching the DVD's.  We are both hooked on the story.  I'm hooked on the fashion, glamour and attitude of Christina's character, Joan Halloway.  This chick owns her curves and flaunts them!  I wish I did.  Why do we curvey girls do this to ourselves?  We need more Christinas in the world!

I love this dress

Christina in typical Mad Men mode

I especially love this necklace by Vivienne Westwood.  I will make it mine!  (if it's still available)

Join the party at Blonde Episodes and meet some new friends

Thursday

Channeling My Inner Flo

Hey everyone.  Hope you all had a great Halloween.  I had a blast this year with the kiddies at Trunks Of Treats.  What's that, you say?  Well that's where you take your car to the local church or school parking lot, decorate it and pass out candy.  It's a safe alternative to walking the streets!  It's a lot of fun and the kids love it.  So do the adults!  I had a great time and got so many compliments on my costume.  People even took pictures of me!

Did you dress up this year?  Well, until next Halloween!

Friday

Fashion Friday-The Kris Jenner Kollection

Is there anything these ladies don't have a well-manicured finger in?
Now Mom's getting into the act with her very own clothing line for QVC

I like the burgundy trench and dress above

Kris's line is not matronly or old lady-ish which is great.  What are your thoughts?

Monday

Goopy Lashes and Dark Blue Nails?

So what's in for Fall in the beauty world?  Big thick clumpy lashes like these...

And dark blue nails like these...

I like both.  What do you think?

Friday

Fashion Friday Kardashian Kollection 2011

The Kardashian Klothing Kollection is now available at your local Sears store.  What do you think?

Leopard print is my favorite color

Hospital Chic

A few Sundays ago I was curled up on the couch with my popcorn watching Secretariat.  I was comfy and cozy wearing my favorite flannel pajamas very similar to these...
All of a sudden it hit me...the stomach ache of stomach aches! and it wouldn't go away.  It got so bad, my hubby decided to take me to the Emergency Room.  I couldn't think straight with the pain but I had enough (fashion) sense to keep my beloved leopard pajamas on and slip on a gilded pair of flip flops like these...
I ended up right back at the ER two weeks later and was admitted.  Turns out I had a serious case of Gall Bladder disease and needed surgery, STAT!  This time I wasn't so lucky and was forced by the nurses to wear one of these for four days...
The ever- so -NOT-chic hospital gown! YUCK, For lack of a better word.  My gown had the exact same pattern as the one Kim is wearing here.  I guess even the rich and famous get hospitalized and are forced to give up their good sense of fashion every now and then.  As for me, I'm back home in my leopard flannels and happy as a clam!  Yeah, I know it's hot out but I'm still wearing them.  I suppose they feel like home and boy am I glad to be home!

Thursday

Pinklalicious Thursday

The earrings are not pink but they are made by moi!
Have a Pinkalicous Day!

Midnight In Paris

I saw this movie a couple of days ago merely by accident.  It just so happend to be playing at the time I arrived at the theatre and my son was surprisingly willing to see it.  My guess is it received  a good rating on the Rotten Tomatoes website, which is thee authority, according to my son, for all things having to do with movies.  I was just in Paris at the end of April and loved it.  I was curious to see what part the city would play in the movie.

I'm not a fan of Woody Allen the man or his writing but this was a delicious movie.  It was finger lickin' good from beginning to end.  Even the movie poster is devine.  Havn't seen it, you say?.  If you are a fan of art and literature, go and see it this weekend, Old Sport.

For now, watch the trailer below.  Auvoir mes amis!
(I hope this is spelled right)

Laduree, Sil-vous-Plait!

Have you ever heard of Laduree?  It is a chain of french tea salons and patisseries in Paris with several locations around the world

Each Laduree is beautifully and ornately decorated...tres chic!

Their most popular delicacy?  The macaron, of course!

They come in so many decadent flavors and delightful colors!

Viva La Juicy!...a la Laduree.  Pink and green taken to a sweet and tasty level!

Even Carrie got in on the deliciousness!  Don't know about the dog, however.
